Steven Cash Nickerson, based in Austin, Texas, has nurtured a professional entrepreneurial and legal career for nearly four decades. For 15 years he was President and Chief Financial Officer of PDS Tech, Inc., overseeing the company's development, legal and financial operations until its sale in 2018 to AKKA Technologies. From 2018 until 2021 he managed North America for AKKA until its sale to Adecco. Steven Cash Nickerson also joined Washington University in St. Louis as a visiting professor of practice in 2017 and is in his sixth year of teaching Negotiation and Business Lawyering to domestic and international law students.
Mr. Nickerson is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, Illinois, California, Nevada, and Texas. During his early years as an attorney, he worked at Jenner & Block, where he handled major corporate and real estate transactions for Fortune 100 companies. Afterward, he founded a California-based human resources outsourcing and advising company called Workforce Strategies, Inc. which he sold in 1997.
After earning his bachelor's degree in English and philosophy, Mr. Nickerson obtained a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He later completed an MBA from the same institution. In 2013, his law alma mater recognized him as a distinguished alumnus.
Outside his professional life, Mr. Nickerson actively participates in community outreach. Following the death of his father, he founded David's Cure, a foundation that raises awareness about prostate cancer. He was also named Humanitarian of the Year by the California Autism Foundation in 2014. A published author and martial arts enthusiast, he has written two books discussing the benefits of the samurai way in daily life.
